Never pay more than $5,000??? That is a bizarrely random number. It would have made sense 25 years ago, but not today when an ounce of gold costs over $2500. Also, the “luxury” is in the finishing, not the material. Most of all, gold watches hold their value less than steel watches. That is universal. I like gold. I have owned numerous gold watches over the years (they were cheap when gold was $300 to $400 from the 1980’s through the 1990’s and I to the early 2000’s. Over the last twenty years of relentless gold price increases (third world cultures love gold, so as they develop, the gold price increases). Today, gold still looks nice, but it does not improve resale value nor does it have some “inherent” value. I stack gold, but I know better than to buy into all the marketing BS. In addition, there is nothing special about yellow gold. 24k gold has its place I jewelry, but for watches there is no difference among rose, white and yellow 18k watches. Often white gold is more popular because it neither attracts unwanted attention nor screams that the wearer is trying too hard (see rapper style). The presenter randomly portraying his opinions as facts is difficult to listen to. It is a real shame. He clearly has much to offer, if he would refrain from stating demonstrably untrue statements as facts.

Tried but difficult to use with tools as it takes 2 hands to use where as I can don my glasses with 1 hand using the lanyard. interesting tho.

Pressure test only certifies it’s waterproof in that instant, not thereafter. If you don’t get all the seals replaced after a reasonable period (think 15 yrs) it’s not waterproof anymore. Watches get dust inside, lubricants dry, gears wear. They keep poor time. Then they need service. Unfortunately now you’re paying for a Clean Lubricate Assemble Parts that need replacing will be billed extra. Like every industry they’re doing less for more. Quaint to see the day date depreciate like it should. Lots has changed in 5 years!

When it comes to Automatics, I’m not getting them “serviced” until they break, I’ll teach myself how to replace the gaskets, and with my Quartz watches I’ll grease them every battery change. My NH35 should last a decade, and I can replace it over servicing for cheaper. I’m a fan of the NH35 and Powermatic 80. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Rolex reminds me of BMW, servicing is absolutely ridiculous if done by a dealer, learn to do the basics, and if not take it to an independent shop/watchmaker.

Great Video! both watch sizes look fine I guess some people equate watch weight with quality with weight. A heavier watch might slide down on your wrist is you get sweaty.

This does NOT appear to work anymore. I've expanded the frequency range in Chrip and used the Wouxun software to turn on modulation for all GMRS channels but the radio still says Freq Over when I try to transmit. Edit: On the channels programming page, you have to change the Duplex settings from "off" to blank for non-repeater channels.
